Nice tint job on the stock taillights. Can you point me to a how-to for that? Is it the same process as the DTM how-to on vqpower.com?

I'm just leery of leaving my stock tails in the oven because I did that with the gen1 altezzas to try and pry the plastic cover off and succeeded in melting the back of the housing where the bulb is held in place.

Actually its not even oven related. Its a transparent paint called Niteshades. Only aftermarket type of stores have it, your local pepboys, autozones wont. However you can order it from www.summitracing.com
I hate the amber in the tail lights so i masked off the lower red area and sprayed the amber with transparent candy apple red (testors model paint) and then i sprayed about 5 coats of this niteshades over it with some clear coat and viola. In the day its kinda hard to see the reverse lights, but nights fine. You can always use less tint coats.

PM me if you have any questions

it will look even better if u shave off the nissan badge and adjust ur muffler higher by using hose clamps.

I like it a lot. When I first did mine, I didn't really like it that much, but the look has really grown on me.

any nighttime shots of the smoked tails? I'd like to see how the ambers and reverse lights look with the mod.

Thanks,

Bill.

I'd suggest paintint the amber piece red and then tinting it. That's what I did.

Yea thats what i did, painted the amber red first. Ill try to get night pictures. Do those hose clamps really pull the muffler up, cause the guy who put it on made it lower than i wanted it
