How do you take out the plastic plug underneath the radiator? I have a 99 maxima SE. I do not want to mess up that plastic bolt what is the best wat to remove it?

The plug can just be unscrewed with a philips head screwdriver... no big deal.. should not be on that tight...

You have to take off some of the plastic shields under there to get it out... your better off just unscrewing the lower hose, its easier and has the same effect

Are there any step by step instructions on flushing out a cooling system for a 99 Maxima SE? How do I remove the bottom hose? Are there clamps holding it down or do I just pull it off? How many gallons will I need to refill my whole cooling system back? Any tips will be helpful... Thank you!

I don't think you have to take anything off to get to the bolt... I didn't. Here is a link that shows you pretty much everything you need to know to do this yourself:

From his pics, the radiator drain is accessible from below.

I just did a coolant change last weekend and whenever I do it on a car with a plastic plug like ours, I always replace the plug with a new one. Well, this was the first time I tried to reuse the old one (the dealer was closed) and when I replaced and tightened the plug it broke. I did end up getting it back out though. Moral of the story: ALWAYS buy a new plug with the washer, it seems that the heat makes the plastic somewhat brittle after time.
