How do I tell if my trasnmission is slipping?
#2
I used to have a 91 civic. Automatic. Few years back. It started slippin.
The way to know, is when your tranny starts to shift between gears, it will suddenly jerk in between shifts. Like on mine, it was slippin between 1 and 2 gear. so, when I felt the car about to shift from 1st, I would let off the gas, and the momentum of the vehicle would "carry" the shift out, and then i would reapply the gas, knowing it had transversed into 2nd, and the shifting "jerk" could not be felt.
Here. from a stop, i would punch it until about 20 mph, then I would feel the trannyslipping into 2nd gear, so i let off the gas quickly about .5 second, then quiicly reapply the gas, and the slip could not be felt.
hope that helps.
