Clicking?!

About a week ago, after work one night, I heard a weird clicking noise when I seemed to step on the brake. Now, tonight again I heard/felt the same noise, but it seemed to be more when I turned the wheel rather than just hitting the brakes. So I pulled the car to the side and put her in park and just twisted the wheel left and right. Each time I did this I could feel a click or two. So now I figure it has absolutely nothing to do with the brake. Anyway, it's a definite click, metal rubbing sound in/on the front driver side. I don't know if it's in the steering wheel column or maybe just on the wheel axel or whatever. Just curious if anybody on here has had something like this or has something like this and can relate and help me out. I'd like to go to the shop tomorrow, hopefully with some better understanding/knowledge of this problem so they can't try and be slick with me. Thanks in advance.

almost sounds like a cv joint...did you check your cv boots to make sure they weren't torn or anything like that? clicking noises like that up front are weird...i was working on a neon at work tonight with the clicking noise while turning and braking, the cv boots were fine, and i'll find out on tuesday if it is the brakes that are making the noise. are your rotors warped or pulsating?

Strut bearings. If you hear a popping/clicking sound when making turns at slow speeds, it's the strut bearings.

As far as I know, my rotors are perfectly fine. As for the CV joints/boots I'm not too sure. I'll check that out tomorrow. Yes, when I make turns at slow speeds or even turn the wheel in Park, it makes that clicking/popping noise so I'll definitely take you up on that as well. I'm goin to check it all out tomorrow. Thanks alot.

To do that you'll need to take off the struts, compress the springs and take them off the strut. The little gray plastic thing is the strut bearing.
