i got ready to go to work yesterday and started the max up , it turned over and ran for about 2-3 seconds, and then died. tried it again, and the same thing happened. tried it again, same thing. then after the third time, it wont turn over. i was thinking this was maybe a fuel pump? anyone have any ideas? at first i thought it was the security system, but after reading over the manual, that doesnt seem like the problem, so i thought fuel system. oh, also i found out the back O2 sensor is out, could that be anypart of it? i have the sensor ordered and waiting for it. please help with this problem, im tired of driving my dads 96 jeep, i want my max back!

Turn over as in won't crank at all or cranks but doesn't start...

its most likely fuel related.. IS your check engine light on ?

 

yes, but it was on before due to my o2 sensor

 

Member dgeesman is having the same problems... but his CEL came on and we think it was his Camshaft Position Sensor.. in your case, you don't have any CELs so its a little tougher. You're going to have to start with the basics of fuel and spark. Can you hear any hum when you turn the key to the position right before the position it starts cranking - i.e. do you hear your fuel pump?

Did the car work after you replaced the O2 sensor - and it just stopped all of a sudden? or did the CEL say O2 sensor and you replaced it and now it doesn't start?
