i think i would pass on the catman cat back, thats the expensive stuff. id settle for an aftermarket b-pipe paired with a nice magnaflow or some other brand muffler.

I just cant justify spending that much for a catback, thats just me tho. y-pipe sems good, ive heard nuthing but good things about the catman y-pipe. build quality is said to be good.

I would personally ditch the hi flow cat since they do close to nothing, like 5 hp max from what i read. unless your stock cat is messed up with a leak or something.

with the amount of money you have id probably go for the catman headers 1st instead of the y pipe and cat back. and then an intake instead of the hi flow cat. just my oppinion tho.

good luck with everything

I wasn't so sure about it either, but I figured if I'm gonna get under there and start messing about, maybe do the lot in one go... Actually quite glad you don't think I need the cat-back... Looked a little pricey to me too, and I didn't know that about the cat-converter, like I said, just figured it'd be easier to replace the lot...

Cheers for the advice!

No need for the high flow cat; doesn't do anything for you. No need to get a catback either; just have a local shop bend one for you as it's A LOT cheaper and does the same thing. But their Y-pipe is awesome.

Also Cattmans Y-pipe costs $350, the one you are looking at for $200 is the custommaxima brand one.

thats another excellent option, budget y pipe is good quality too.
but the new hotness is the catman headers, everyone is talking about them so much i feel like i need to get one too. i dont want to feel left out lol

do you have any current mods now, i suggest you ditch the catman catback and just get a custom made one at a shop or get a b pipe from budget or warpspeed. get a type of intake, read the FAQ to learn more about which intakes do what. dont always look for the expensive stuff, you can find great off brand parts that do the exact same thing as their brand name/expensive counter parts.

you can check out some other places to compare prices

yea im with them.. ditch the cat back and get the cattman header/y-pipe setup. best amount of gains there. and if your intrested in changeing the whole lot u could buy a cheaper cat back and still get an ebay straight pipe/high flow cat.

reallistically, y-pipe, b-pipe and intake. do the whole thing if you want to brag or want it to have a fart cannon (i hate those things!). but thats best for performance for the money. if you want speed, i'm not sure which ones but i'm pretty sure you can find higher output injectors at the junk yard, get a new ecu (have someone who has a good rep. custom program it) and thats about all you can cheaply do to the max. kinda sux not having more options, but that should make it a lot quicker. also make sure the knock sensor is good, along with any other sensor you may have your suspicions about, when bad they suck the life right out of the car)

btw. does gutting the cats have any benefit on these cars? mine is clogged i think, so i'll probably do it anyway, just curious

Nope; gutting the cat does little to nothing for or cars.

- the high flow and expensive catbck

get a test pipe or keep the stock cat, gutting the cat hurts performance

if u want a real exhaust, cattman headers + greddy catback.

or cattman y-pipe with greddy catback. cattman catback is crazy expensive.

I was just wondering how cattman headers + y-pipe + cattman or greddy cat back would sound because no one says to get the headers and the y-pipe together.

The cattman headers are a complete system which replaces everything all the way to the cat. So there is no need for the Y pipe.

Here is a thread I made about the sound of just headers with everything else stock and one of a full cattman system on Y2KSESteve's car which includes headers, and catback.
