things that go bump ?

hey guys im new to the site just two quick questions . for the past year my 1999 maxima gle has been doing some strange things.
problem:
1) when i come to a stop sign or a red light my car starts to "bump", my rpms actually get lower by 1 or 3 lines when the "bumping" starts. it feels like my car is about to stall.
2) Another problem is with this strange metallic noise that comes from the back of my car when i hit a pot hole or i am on a bumpy road.

anyone else have these problems cause i have gone to my nissan dealer and they have no idea what would cause these things. Also both of those problems dont happen all the time maybe they happen about 3 times a week or sometimes more. There is no major changes to the engine no hook ups to it at all. anyone here have a reason or know how to fix these problems please reply back to me at pottant99@yahoo.com or just reply here. thanks guys i am waiting for your responses thanks

1) Ignition coils... VERY VERY common problem w/ 99's.. mine does the same thing, although yours seems much worse. (you can change these (all 6) yourself in about 30 minutes)

2) could be exhaust piping banging against a hanger, mine did this for a while.. or it could be something with your rear suspension.
