Ignition Signal Circuit MIL code (0201)

i am getting 0201 for Ignition Signal Circuit. i read the FAQ, and it says that if its an individual misfire it will create a code, as well as if its the crank position sensor (CPS). is there a specific code for the CPS? i am only getting 0201 and nothing else. its driving me insane.

also, is there a way to test the CPS? where is it? same with the condensor.

any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i am going to try the wiring for the front crankshaft position sensor, though if there was a problem with this, it should set a code for it.

i will also pull the ECU apart to see if there are any damaged components.

anyone have this problem before? anyone know of a solution?
