Car purchased few months ago. Time for a TUNE-UP! Is my "stuff to buy" list correct??

Got 97k miles on the car. Not sure when the last tune up was. So I did some research and found that the following should be replaced:

...STUFF TO BUY...

spark plugs - OEM NGK Platinum Plus
fuel filter - don't know OEM brand/type. Help me out here.
oil change - going to use Mobil 1 (the one with the green label designed for high mileage)
pcv valve - don't know OEM type. Once again, help a brother out here

I recently purchased a K&N air filter, so I'm good to go in that dept. Am I missing anything on my list?

BTW... Which website do you guys normally go to for the best nissan parts deals? (spark plugs, fuel filter, etc)

THANKS!

Get NGK Copper plugs, they are MUCH cheaper and only last half as long as the plats, you still save money in the long run. Fuel filter you can get from the dealer, i think its around $10.

Try www.courtesyparts.com for parts.

Don't forget to replace the air filter too.

If you plan on doing your own oil changes, etc. you will save money (shipping) by ordering multiple filters at once, i.e. I always order 6 oil filter, 2 air filters, and 2 fuel filters each time I stock up.

personally, i don't believe in paying extra for all that "made for high mileage" oil stuff. i have always used plain Valvoline 10w-30 oil and Wix oil filters. my last car was an 89 mustang 4-cyl and it went 233,000 miles before i sold it.

Not to be off topic but why do you use 10w30 when nissan recomends 5w30?
Is it because of high mileage or location?

yeah. 5w-30 is good for cooler climates where the temp goes well below freezing in the winter and isnt *** hot in the summer, which is probably most of the country. since i live in georgia, 10w-30 works best for me.

BKR5E-11 - copper NGK spark plugs at your local parts store (NAPA)

fuel filter - get the 300z one (but find out exactly from others that have used that...I have not....which one is correct year), because it is a pain to have to get your hands in there and change this. The changing process is not hard, just tedious, and you would be able to go longer with a larger 300z fuel filter

Oil - Mobil 1 is great oil! (I use the 10w-30 in summer here too.....I am in Mississippi....very hot)

Oil filter - I use the STP one that you can get from Autozone or NAPA. It works good and is not nearly as expensive as some of the others.

**NOTE: I would not necessarily use the online dealers for all of this. It would be easier and cheaper probably to just go to the local parts store(s) and pick this stuff up. Some people have "internet-on-the-brain" and they think that just because it is on the internet, it is automatically cheaper. Not true! Price the stuff out locally (since it was already done in very good detail for the online stuff here in this thread) and see how they match up so that you can know which route to go in the future.

I live in Ga and I use 5W-30 year round. The Max runs better with 5W-30. Also when is the last time you heard of a max failing because of oil. I do use the synthetic stuff!! 94k and still smoking!
