Tire size

I jus bought some rims and tires off ebay. He listed incorrectly... i thought it was suppose to be a 235/40/18 tires.. but it ended up being 215/40/18... do these go good with the maxima? the wheel size is indeed 18x7.5 as the seller stated but the wheels seems to be so short in width...

hopefully they fit... cuz they do look good!

Speedo will read 1.5% faster than actual speed. The recom size is 235/40-18. I personally do not think you should go smaller. This 235 is rated for 8 in wheel but will fit a 7.5 inch as well.

If the guy told you they were 235's, get your money back, they're too narrow.

Let's just say that your stock wheels came with 215mm wide rubber.

youre supposed to go with 235s (i went with 245s ) but the general rule of thumb (note: GENERAL! not exact!!) is for every inch bigger you go add 10 to the width and subtract 10 from the aspect ratio --> +10/-10/+1, get it?
215/55/16 --> 225/45/17 --> 235/40/18
the rule works better when your upgrading your 13" honda wheels on a civic though...
