Help My Keyfob Wont Work Anymore!!!!!!!

SO i went to lock my car today and the damn remote doesnt work anymore. I thought it was the battery so i replaced it. THen i figured maybe by replacing the battery it cleared the codes? its the original remote, so i didnt think this was possible. I looked in the FAQ's and it told me to get in the car, lock the door, and then stick the key in the keyhole 6 times in 10 seconds, and this was suppossed to make the lights blink (and clear the existing codes). This did not happen!!!! then i followed the directions and turned the key to the ACC position and push the "lock" button on the remote, and the lights were suppossed to blink again confirming that i did it right... again nothing happenned.... my car is a 99, maybe this is the problem??? what do i do????

As a quick update, I noticed on my way to work that the clock also does not work... is it possible that these issues are related??? I think

Umm.. maybe your remote is busted.. time for a new one? It is possible that your clock not working is related.. however, it is more likely that your remote is broken.

when you replace the battery, it does not reset the remote code.
I find it very hard that the clock is related to anything, unless it got disactivated when you try to do the "code entry" procedure. (which I don't belive either)

Maybe your blew some fuses? or did something so that some parts (clock, keyless module) aren't getting power.

Check your fuses. If the little red security light on your dash isn't flashing anymore, that probably means you blew the fuse for the security/keyless entry system.

Thank you for all your help, last night i checked the fuse for the security (its under the hood) and it was fine, i wonder if these really are unrelated... does anyone know where to find out what fuse is to keyless entry, and what fuse is to the clock, etc... i looked in the haynes manual, and in my owners manual and got nothing....

I called one nissan dealer today (bur****) and he refused to answer any questions, told me to bring it in and he would charge me to take a look... what a crock... i called performance nissan (which incidently doesnt sell nissans anymore) and the guy was a little more helpful , but probably talking out of his.... anyway he told me that there is no fuse related to the remote keyless entry, and told me that I needed to buy a whole new keyless entry system... which of course they could install for a price.... not interested... anyway does anyone else have any ideas???

My last question is, does anyone know if their power antenna is run off the same wire that powers this remote entry??? if you look under the right panel (passenger side) in the trunk ther eis a box that says remote entry, and there is a wire coming off mine that looks like it goes to power the antenna... since my antenna doesnt work, i had it unplugged.. is there any chance that by moving stuff around yesterday, the wires got crossed on the loose antenna power wire, and blew a fuse, or worse, shorted out the whole remote entry system????

so i figured it out.. partially.. it was a fuse, it was the one under the steering wheel at the top right hand side, labelled electric parts... anyway i replaced it and immediately my clock worked and the remote worked... unfortunately it blew again within minutes which says there is a bigger problem i need to worrry about... i tried to find the ground wire (thinking this is the problem), but couldnt find where it was... any ideas???

Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Did the fuse blow right away i.e. as soon as you tried to use the keyless remote?

If yes, then you might have a fried keyless module... that unit in the trunk you mentioned...
