What part of the VIN or where on the car would I be able to know if I have a cali spec or fed spec 5spd maxima? are there any performance differences in 95/96's? If I were to mix and match 95/96 5spd ecu's that were cali spec or fed spec..., would that matter...or are they purely interchangeable?

PM your VIN and I'll tell you if yours is CALI or not unless you already know. It also says how to decode it in the FAQ. The ECUs are probably the same. I don't know if the early 4th gen CALI cars have the same swish valves as the 99 or not.

is there any performance or other differences? I was under the impression that 95/96 cali spec maximas were no different then 95/96 fed spec...and that the changes didn't begin till 97+....??? hopefully the ecu's are the same as well...
