VIDEO ! : Cattman Headers & Cattman Catback
Finally, I have gotten the Maxima to sound like I want it to. It took Cattman Headers and the Cattman Catback to get me there. The difference in my old setup is absolutely amazing ! No drone, no bees in a can, no raspy sounds, no metallic crappy sounding junk ! All I can say is thanks Cattman performance and I cant wait to hit the dragway and cut loose !
My old setups:
1. Warpspeed ypipe, stock cat, warpspeed b pipe, magnaflow muffler ( did not like)
2. Same setup as above with custom maxima test pipe ( it sounded worse)
3. Added dynomax super turbo ( took it off and sent it back)
4. Cattman headers, custom maxima test pipe, warpspeed b pipe, magnaflow muffler ( headers made the car sound so much better, but still something was missing)
5. Same as above but I removed the custom maxima test pipe ( made an improvement )
6. Cattman Headers, Stock Cat, Cattman Catback ( this is what is on the car at present time and I love it )
Everyone knows how I whip out moms bathroom scales and I whipped them out again to check out the " TALE OF THE TAPE"
My findings:
Cattman Catback:
Midpipe/B Section: 18 lbs.
Muffler: 15 lbs.
Total: 33 lbs.
Warpspeed Performance & Magnaflow Muffler:
Warpspeed B Pipe: 23 lbs.
Magnaflow 5x8 Muffler: 14 lbs.
Total: 37 lbs.
The cattman catback was a whopping 4 lbs lighter ! You know im happy about that !
Well, in conclusion, Im one happy maxima owner ! Sure we all have different likes and dislikes, but this was exactly what I was looking for.

thanks guys, the good news is that it is possible for any of us to have a nice sporty sound. i love hitting the dragstrip and i have always wanted to sound good making passes. not only for me but for non maxima people who will hear it and think, " Man, that was a Maxima ! " LOL !
If the weather looks right (no rain - i know it will be hot) im heading to the track this wednesday.

A b-pipe and universal fart pipe (regardless of if it's a major name brand - ie magnaflow) is never going to sound like a real catback combo.
Nonetheless, it does sound very nice. But dont you think a GReddy or Apexi catback would give just as big of a sound 'improvement' over the old b-pipe + fart pipe setup? IMO I think it has more to do with upgrading to a 'real' catback than it does necessarily to do with Cattman vs. WSP kinda thing.
Still sounds incredible though

Caesar, everything about your car is sweet....except you have no interior. he he.
That exhaust sounds too good now. I mean, it should be illegal to ride around with an exhaust sounding that good, and nobody else having it. (The headers still sound as mean as ever.)
Congrats on a great system.

Ceasar:
That setup sounds amazing. You've got nothing to be ashamed about now.
That setup sounds exactly like my ancient HKS muffler teamed with a y-pipe and Courtesy B-pipe. I had to get rid of it because I wanted a mostly stock sounds exhaust and the oh-so slight resonance at 2400-2700rpms was getting annoying.
