Alarm Beep Mod

I am attempting to do the Alarm Beep mod and got the buzzer and rely from Radio Shack. Now I have never worked with a reley before and the instructions were pretty undetailed about how to do this. Only a drawing that I cant really see. Anyhelp would be much appreciated. Thanks

there is a relay already in the trunk with like 5 wires coming off of it. all i did was unplug this relay and put the two wires from the buzzer on the right wires and then plug the relay back in so it pinched the wires in there and kept them tight. i then ran the wires thru a grommet that was in the trunk and zip tied the buzzer to the inside of the trunk. i think theres a pic of this buzzer in the faq's. let me know if u got anymore questions

what do you mean by running the wires through a grommet. I bought the buzzer. and I know what you mean by just mashing the wires into the existing rely. is that all you do and then secure the buzzer?

Thanks a lot fishpony. I just mashed the wires into the existing relay. And zip tied it in on the same bracket....Works perfect. Now here is a question....what are our options for different buzzers we can get. I want a little different sound..and maybe a little louder too HAHAA...Like a TWIRP TWIRP kinda ferari movie style sound

i think for a different sound you'll have to buy different buzzers and experiment with them

So basically...there already is a buzzer with the stock system? All you have to do is rewire it a little?

no, there is already a RELAY a relay just switches power, toggles back and forth depending on different conditions. all you are doing is adding a buzzer, like they said, very easy to do...

That Is the Buzzer we are talking about buying at radioshack. And then take http://www.vqpower.com/images/howto/..._mcr_alone.jpg which is located right near your trunk latch. Mash the red wire to a Green w/orange stripe wire (there are 3 to choose from). Then the black wire of the buzzer to the orange wire. I then forced the relay back togeather. Ziptied the buzzer to secure it. I am gonna try some other buzzers at radioshack. If anyone else finds a louder more obnoxious buzzer or just cooler one lemme know. Remember they have to be a 12V buzzer though. Hope this helps make this mod a little easier for anyone else trying this in the future.
