JIC coilovers worth it?

My sprints are making moise and getting bad so Im looking into a new suspension. Id like to do it right and be done with it so i am looking at some JIC coilovers for $1650. Are they worth it? Cause i also see Tein coilovers for $800.

If i will be happy with JICs and never have to worry about my suspension again then i will buy.

any guidance my fellow .orgers?

Do you live in an area with a lot of salt/snow? I hear those types of elements can destroy JIC's.

Also weren't you selling the ride?

I have the FLA-1s on my 02. Are they worth it? absolutley. Way better ride than a spring/strut combo, you can slam the ride and still have full suspension travel. the ride is stiffer, but you dont have the BS bounce that you have on a spring/strut drop. I live in NY, i am not worried about corrosion/salt whatever. Besides, JIC for $300 will rebuild your entire set of coilovers.

cant those elements deteriorate any type of suspension? just gotta keep em clean right? i dunno...

well the JICs are height/damper adjustable and the Teins are just hieght adjustable. if you are looking for tracks and racing, then JICs i would highly recommend. if not then go with Teins. big price difference but its all up to you. i think its well worth it. plus you get what you pay for right?

So this would mean the JICs would/could ride a lot better, depending on the setting you use, while the Teins are as firm or soft as they will ever be?

I know the JICs you can adjust the camber as well, not sure about the Teins.

I live in an area with lots of snow and salt, but the car gets stored every winter, so Im not too worried about it.

Unsafe to drive on...they are the Top suspension you can possibly buy for the Maxima..either yours arent adjusted correctly of you have them in upside down

it says the same thing on maxmods (about them being potentially unsafe since Jic's have very high rate linear springs)
"Let me get one thing straight first. I'm not a big fan of progressive springs, they lean too much and get really harsh near their endstops. But they absolutely murder linear springs in real world bumpy cornering performance. Very high rate linear springs on bumpy cornering surfaces have a tendancy to break tires free and can possibly cause uncontrolled slides which can be very dangerous. " <-- http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?SuspensionSelection down under the handling:street performance section.

JIC's are the best coilovers made for our cars... however for half the price you can get the Teins.. or D2 Racing Coilovers. The D2's come with pillow ball mounts and camber plates and you can adjust the bound/rebound on them... none of which the Teins have.

id go with d2s. Its right in the middle. your not going to break your bank with a 1600$ suspension but your not going to the low end either. Check out the general forums. 1MAX2NV just got a set. They look sweet. That anidoized purple really is nice. Not sure how they are but D2 has been around a long time with race cars.
