Got me a max(what to do...)

Hey everyone, just got me a 95 and i was wondering about what to do on a 700 dollar budget, im kinda poor right now (just bought a 6 thousand dollar car...) and ive done all the free mods i can (BTW, my drivers side doors are PURPLE behind the vinyl) That made my day. I dont want a POS ricer like 99% of the other **** around here, so any honest help would be appreciated.

Definetly get an Intake and Y-pipe first. I waited a long time before getting my y-pipe because i thought it wouldnt make a big difference, but damn, shouldve gotten it sooner. Worth every penny.

alright, im gonna get the warpspeed y pipe, and the injen cai(reroute away from where it can get wet...) after that, i dunno, maybe 70 shot nitrous, dont think im gonna sc it. lol, today i couldnt find my key but had to pop my hood, so i tripped the alarm, popped it, and pulled the anti-theft fuse. funny thing is it runs, so a lot of good that does... think im gonna get a viper.

There are lots of other mods you can do that you would feel all the time (unlike nitrous). I guess it depends on whether you want a car that's more fun for daily driving or if you want a 1/4 mile beast.

break 10, that's funny. Hasn't been done yet to the best of my knowledge...who knows though, maybe someday. My point was that unless you want to mod only for the track there are other things that should probably be done before you get nitrous, since it is pretty much a one time thing which you will feel the effects of for a very short time. Anyway you could get a reprogrammed ecu for more power, and should really think about addressing the max's weekpoint, the handling. Here's a great resource for all you modding questions http://maxmods.dyndns.org/. Oh yeah, are you auto or 5spd?

lol, fast and the furious baby, j/k. its an auto, so when u think about it, 80 percent of the time, the mevi wont have any effect at all. anyone think i could get a straight trade for a 5spd? yeah, im gonna get a rsb for now, get the tokico illuminas and whatever i feel it needs. im basically doing this because i want a fun car to drive, not looking to win comps, but just want to be able to whoop whenever i can. btw, thanks for the input everyone

With the auto you've got the VB and drop resistor mods, I'm not too familiar with these as I have a 5spd, but I'm sure somebody can fill you in. They should give you a much more responsive tranny and a sportier feeling car.

For $700 budget you sure asking for a lot of stuff, I think you should start with Intake and Y-pipe, then maybe go with the ECU upgrade or catback.

If I would have known how much more fun the y-pipe would have made my max to drive, I would have bought it a lot sooner. That is definitely the first thing to get.

Congrats on the new Maxima. Enjoy.

well i say y-pipe but i still dont got one but i hope to get one soon. i relly dont like intakes but a cattback system would be nice. i am interested in the greedy sp2 system. or if you want to blow all your money at once, get headers. but get y-pipe first if you want more performance and you need to lower the max.

wonder how good the y-pipe is? lets just say

1. Buy Y-pipe
2. Buy Maxima.
3. Put Maxima on the Y-Pipe

but seriously if you get the warpspeed y-pipe be prepared to get some grinding noise. easily solved by lovering the cross brace member by 4 washers on each bolt

cattman makes 'em. They evidently give about 10 hp over a normal y-pipe (they come with a y-pipe), and make the car sound awesome. Caesar and optimus have them look around...you'll find some info on them.
