Question after Budget ypipe install

After grueling hours of getting rust in my eyes and ripping out the stock y pipe, I finally got my buget y pipe on. I cranked my car and heard an exhaust leak and after tightening some bolts, the noise lessened, but is still there. I was told to give it about a weak for the y pipe to heat up and somewhat reform itself and tighten the bolts again to get rid of the leak. Has anyone else had a problem with a y pipe leaking after install?

no leaking here. did you lightly tap the rings into place before lifting the pipe into position?

are you sure its a leak?

Looks like you're going to have to put it up on the rack again. And check those gaskets.

You're probably getting a leak because you didn't clean the surface of the flange on the cat. It helps if you grind it to a smooth surface.

Its not from the cat, its from the section thats is vertical. Ima try to let the y pipe form to itself and if that doesnt work i will re-install it and tap in those gaskets.

Also, are you sure that you are just not used to the already raspy sound of what the y-pipe makes? I mean, it is a good bit more raspy than the stock pipe anyway. That could be your problem....not really a problem at all.....you are just not used to it.

It is definately is raspy, but i still believe i have a leak. My friend is gettin me into his shop tomorrow so ima see if i can do anything to fix it. How raspy is it and where does the sound come from? I hear the sound from the y pipe itself, is this normal?
