Check out my projectors

Hey fellas, installed projectors in my 98 yesterday.
They came out of aftermarket civic headlights.
Let me know what you guys think!
If you wanna see the photos of the install process, the link is in my sig.

so after putting projectors in, you lose the high beams right? also, how do you aim them? do the bolts for the old one still work on these?

ok...not to rain on your parade...but why would you go through all the trouble of putting in projectors and not doing at least HIDs or even better Bi-xenons, so you stay somewhat legal with a high-beam?

i didnt try re-aiming them yet, they look allright on the road, but im sure the same way as the regular lights.

as for high beams - i didnt want to spend money on either hids or bixenons, i bought those civic headlights for 55$ and i that was a lot. maybe when i get more money. plus, this was a "practice" mod, if i would want to then ill get another pair of headlights and make them the right way.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if you lost some light output. Don't even think about putting HIDs into those projectors, they are made for a halogen bulb and the amount of glare will be awful for other drivers.

Vad3k...in my opinion if $55 is too much for those projectors...modding cars is a hobby you should reconsider.......what is the point of putting in a Halogen Projector and losing High beams...you won't even pass inspection..IMHO...waste of time

work looks good though..but still a waste of time

You could have done an Audi or BMW retrofit. Plus, I've heard a lot of the Honda guys express their hate for the weak light output of those projectors.

What does an audi or bmw retrofit entail? any idea of the cost? have you done one on a 95-99 max?

hey man don't let the hate bother you if your happy with it then go with it. It looks really well and you know what to do in the future. You can put hid's in there and they'll look just as well as any other projector. I have seen civic's with the same projectors and HID's and they were bright as ****. Build your car for yourself not to make anyone else happy. Everyone will hate it's a way of life. build on brotha and to the haters

dude joe leave the guy alone. for $55 those look better than your POS 'dual' projectors. you dont have HID's in yours either so you're not allowed to talk

yea i agree, the "haters" here are right, i just chose the crappy way for now because i didnt know how it would turn out, so didnt want to invest a lot. if i get enough $$$ then ill def get new headlights and put the hids. just not now. and thanks for the few complimets, the housing looks black because of the projector's black plastic body.

Not to rain on anyones parade but....some of these mods I see on the board and in person look like shiet!! Retrofitting other headlights and making some half azz projector headlight. I've seen tin foil in headlights, glue, hoods don't line up, empty space around the headlights, light beams pointing to the sky. Theres some real half azz shieet that makes me cringe and really want to be more than honest w/some of these folks. But I keep my mouth shut.

By the way. They look nice in the pics. You should try to buy a used headlight and fit 2 projectors in it.

I got my x5 projectors for 90 bucks, Hid kit for 250 so the whole thing cost me $350ish. Good investment when done right.
