Try to get new. Rebuilts can be serious trouble and do you really want to deal with a rebuilt tranny if it goes bad?

from oem, the price for LSD is cheaper. LSD will help in Snow / Rain so you wont swerve out of control. (maxima is powerful) it is a necessity. brand spanking new this is the best price. used, expect 400-800 usd. really recommend rebuilding it with the link i posted above. Nissan doesnt know how to fix their own problems with their transmissions.

I do not know if i am capable.

So how hard is it to rebuild I have never done stuff of that matter. I mean i am a pretty average mechanic. Do all my own stuff, done some clutchs, brakes lowering and that matter just never tranny or rearend stuff. ONe time tried to rebuild rearend and it went horrible.
