rear door pillers rusting

Hi i'm not talking about the front pillers in the FAQ that have black vinyl over them, im talking about the ones on the back windows. On my car these are starting to get what seems to be deep rust; its like bubbling rust... Does anyone know if they can be taken off and maybe sandblasted and repainted?(i have a sandblaster to do it but dont want to try it with it on the car) Or if i could buy new ones somewhere? Anyone who has any ideas please post. thanks

paint them, that's what I did. Sand them down a bit, primer them, then paint them flat black. A coat of clear coat will make them look showroom new.

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to stop body rot forever.. Even if you repaint it, it will probably only last 2-3 years(from what I've seen)

Mine are doing the same - the pillars between the rear windows and the little quarter glass are showing spots of rust its only a matter of time...

I hear ya... im no stranger to body rot, welcome to the northeast haha. I was just wondering if theres anyway to take them off since the rust is down low on them and I want to clean them up really good. As for the rust I'm sure I can kill it for awhile with some chemicals and sandblasting/primer/paint/clear, its just a matter of cleaning them enough. So if anyone knows if they come off please let me know. thanks
