ok guys, i had my tranny rebuilt and its been about almost half year?
anyways....sometimes, when driving normal on first gear from a red light, it just pops out, sometimes i dont even notice until i gas my car, but sometimes, it would engage then it just pops out like hard. any ideas why its doing that?

 

Mine doesn't pop out of gear but the shifter moves whenever gas is applied. It only moves about a half inch or so and when you take your foot off the gas it goes back into place. This is the first 5 speed that I have had that has done this and I am wondering if it is normal or not. Maybe you have the same issues as my car just worse.

 

i can also say mine moves.... i know on my eclipse i started having this problem in 5th gear, and it ended up being that the nut that goes on and holds all of the gears together was loose... well in my case it wasnt loose, all the threds were gone! so i had to order a new one, installed it, torqued to 120ft lbs and wahla, problem fixed....

i hope its not the same problem on the max, cause mine def moves 1/2inch in every gear

 

actually, i have noticed that too, but i think it is normal, because i had a buddy of mine that had an i30, and it did the same thing, so i think its normal, but mine literally pops out of first gear sometimes. and the worst thing about it is, sometimes it comes out so hard, that it hurts my hand. haha.
either way, does anyone have any idea why that is?

 

popping out means your tranny is going.. i would take it back to the place you got it rebuilt.

mine was popping out of fourth.. then third.. then fifth.. i couldn't decellerate in any of the gears above 2nd without it popping out.

 

My friend who is a transmission specialist says that when your shifter pops out of gear, that's the syncros going. If you keep driving it that way, it'll go thru the gears and then your tranny dies. Hope your warranty is still good. My shifter slightly moves the same way when in gear and accelerating, my friend says its normal. Some cars do that. I had an IROC-Z that did that.

 

yeah either way, i am ****ed at them, because i paid a grip of money, and they did a ****ty *** job.
wtf! well....at least it does not pop out everytime.
but it'll pop out at least about 3 times a week. they better fix it. i paid way too much money for nothing.

 

the movement of the shifter when in gear is normal. i've had that on my prelude and on the max. it moves about a 1/2'' from coasting to hitting the gas.
