knock sensor not the problem??
knock sensor not the problem??
About 3 weeks ago my check engine light came on. I took it to a mechanic and he told me he got a knock sensor code and o2 codes. Two weeks after the light came on, it automatically turned off. A week later (which is now) I took it to a more reliable family related mechanic. He told me he had no bad signs on his OBD II scanner?. knock, sat, evap, etc. everything was fine. He thought it might be the maf. How does the check engine light just go off by itself? I did nothing to the car except wash it a lot and kept mobil premium in it at all times. Any ideas? Is this mechanic just wanting more money for labor on my second trip? Or can the messed up MAF really lag the engine just like the knock would do? I'm so confused.
