sup...i have a 96 SE with 185K on the ODO it doesnt seem like i have a power loss due to knock sensor timing retard but then again it coujld have always been bad since i got the car.....my question it would the car be really low on power or what...and how much is a sensor

 

Check your ECM for stored codes. I had the KS code when I checked mine. I reset it a few times and the same code kept coming back. Once I changed it the car felt like it had a little more get up ( it was noticeable to me when taking of from a light, when the KS was bad it felt like the car would hesitate for a sec even with a steady push of the pedal). I bought my KS on line for $107 dollars shipped, can't remember the stores name though.

Search ebay with "maxima knock" and you will probably see one for 94.00$. Shipping is only one dollar and this guy is selling these fast. Last time I looked there were only four left so I would check him out. The guys ebay name is yoshi...something. Mine should be here monday. I can't wait .
