Transmission Oil Change - Which do you recommend?
I am up for a transmission oil change. My mileage is currently at 91K. Which transmission service is recommended for my Max at this mileage? Should I just get the oil changed (planning on using synthetic oil)? Or should I have the plate dropped and have the screen cleaned, etc.?
If an oil change is all that is needed, how many qts. does it require to change it?
Any info would be appreciated!

Automatic
Chane the filter for sure. Synth is better if your budget warants it. If you plan on keping heer for a while 150k, or heavy mods, synth for sure.

I did this awhile ago, and there's not really a filter to change, atleast not one like in a domestic. There's one nut on the "screen" that doesn't want to come off for all the tea in India or China. Solution- clean the pan and "screen" with brake cleaner and put it back together with a new gasket. oh yeah locktite the bolts. If you go with the synthetic, and you're doing this at home, it's going to be a mixture of fluids, cause you can't get all of the old fluid out just by draining it the first time. it won't hurt anything though, it will help.

Like notromax said, drop the pan and clean it. Also the magnet as well.
If you can find a place like Jiffy Lube to use your own fluid, go ahead and brought in 12 quarts of Mobil 1 ATF.
If not, do a flush at Jiffy Lube first with regular ATF. Trust me, you will tell the difference the moment you drive out the parking lot. Then do the pan-cleaning (either yourself, or mechanic). Put in 4-5 quarts of Mobil 1 ATF. Then do the drain-and-refill routine everytime you change oil, for 3-4 more times.
After that, I do the drain-and-refill every 30k.
