Alternator

Hey guys, just recently noticed - when im driving my car at night, and i use the signal, or flashers; my headlights and interior lights kinda flash along w/ the signal, is my alternator weak? the car drives great and everythign. a/c runs fine, so does my radio. It's only at night when i expericne theset hings. At idle, my cars rpm is at 600-650, and w/ a/c on its usually 800-900.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

*My headlgihts also kidna dim when i hit my brakes???

Thankz in advance...

If I had to guess I'd say it's your battery or bad grounding.

Try cleaning your battery terminals.

it is the alternator. my 95 did the same thing for about 4 months and finally died 6 blocks from my house at 11PM. I would replace it before it leaves you stranded.

Remember Nissan ended up replacing a bunch of alternators.... Did Nissan contact you? If not, try calling them and giving them your VIN. They ended up replacing mine for $0. Just a thought....

Hey, I buaght my car second hand about a motnh ago w/ only 38k miles on it. It's a 1998, so i presume that the previous owner (original owner) already performed teh recall ont eh car. Just out of the curiousity, did you get the recall done recenlty?? If so how did you go about completing this event?

Thanks once again...

I have written down in the car, but from memory - 1 -1 1/2 years ago. I think if you ended up getting a new alternator and sent them the bill, they reimbursed you BUT your car had to be on the list as having a bad solenoid. Mind you this is from memory but give them a call tomorrow and find out!
