Post your inovative projects. or any ideas of it.
well basicaly I am trying to find out any idea about any project for our maximas.
example 1 : I think I will put a VQ35 on my 95 maxima. -> Great Idea
example 2 : I swiched the leds in my dash from the white to blue -> great Idea
example 3 : I wraped aluminum foil on my dashboard to get the aluminun looks -> bad idea
ok, here is my new project Idea
I used a nissan altima motor antenna (with one little modification) to replace my broken maxima antenna. bought it at the junkyard for $20 instead of $200 at the dealer.

6x9's on the rear deck -- good sound upgrade without getting aftermarket HU, amp, subs. Be sure you're somewhat mechanically inclined enough that you can make patterns and cut sheet metal in a tight spot. Sorry no pictures yet, but they came out good.

#1- Cut off the "teeth" in the openings of the front bumper, shave the excess and paint over. Makes it look alot cleaner. And it's free. Sorry I don't have any pix of that.
#2- I saw last night a guy on the 5th gen forums that took out the inner fenders and sprayed the insides with rubberized undercoating. It acts as cheap sound-proofing. I know in my car, depending on the surface, i get alot of noise coming up through the fenders. He said that it helped out alot to quiet it down. I'm gonna try that, and in the doors :-)
#3- 9007 conversion
#4- Ludalip!, hehehe
#5- 6x9 for the back like tomservo said

My great idea: dyed the headliner, trunk trim, and rear dash black......looks sweet.
I did the 9007 write up thingy and made up the Ludalip name....w00t. But thats nothing special, lets get the running gear from a 350z and swap it into a Max! I do too many light mods, just to pi$$ ppl off all my front lights light up at once....thats 10 lights on the front..........

#1 i did what 95blkmax did and "cut off the teeth" on the front bumper and its now one big piece and the stuff i used to make my grill i #2 put in place of my air vents, so i have some really nice 'custom' air vents
heres a link and if you clicl on the picture you can see i also shaved my turn signals off.

I want to install a second VQ power train in the trunk. Reasons why you ask?
1st: Double the power!
2nd: All wheel drive!
3rd: because it hasn't been done yet!
Something like this.

back: http://www.dubsport.com/pics/bigdub101b.jpg
Only problem would be this!

How am I suppose to watch all that stuff?
You would need a passenger just to make sure everything is running correctly.

ive been sitting on this one for a while. for us 95/96'ers without the accessablitiy of clear/red tail lights. what if you take the housing part per say of the stock taillight and the lense part of altezzas and then like like cut out the clear stuff that the 97/99'ers use for thier red/clears and jus paint one half red. and if you did both the inner and outer tail light portion then you wouldnt have to worry about matching them. just a thought im hoping to try this.

5spd conversion (if ur an auto) ---- Great Idea
VQ35 Swap --- Good Idea, but the same or more power is acheived more easily by adding a SC or turbo
97-99 Full Exterior Conversion (if 95-96)
Mold R34 Skyline headlights.. (Not sure what it would look like, but i'm sure it would look cool)
Build a VQ internally for a turbo/SC setup
Whoever completes a RWD Maxima conversion would be my hero.

But if done right.. It could acually look pretty good. I'm for sure willing to buy a pair of altezzas and take my taillights apart to try this..
Props for the great idea!

The red clears for a 95-96 can be done. Take the stock tails open them up, take altezzas open them up. Paint 1/2 the altezza cover red and assemble with the stock rear/deffuser. Done, problem is where do you put the reflectors? Maybe some stick ons somewhere on the bumper.

Projects? Hmm...
Well, I just did some testing on my custom BOSE LED backlight replacement project...just a few tweaks to go, but it's looking good.
More projects "in the works" include:
- Mounting my radar detector behind the front grill, and running the display to inside my center vents (below the clock). I am pretty sure it's been done before, but I've always wanted to do it.
- Finish building the BOSE AUX input (will take standard haedphone jack, or A/V's) Cornblatt (or something) used to make these.
- Another "idea" I had (that I prob won't have time to do) is for LED tails....basically an extra vertical strip of LEDs (on the outside edges of the brake LEDs) will light from the bottom to the top depending on how hard you are pressing the brake pedal. So if you are barely tapping it, it will light up a few, if you are half on the brake it will light up half, and it you are slamming on the brake it will light up full (and brighter).
And yes, I will never have the free time to do the last project.....but maybe for my next car
