HELP! clutch fluid leak

When I tried to take my car out today, it could not get into gear. The clutch pedal feels dead, when you press it it jsut stays down at the the bottom. I notice there is very little clutch fluid left in the reservior, and there is fluid dripping from the bottom of the tranny. I dont really know exactly where the leak is looks like is coming from where the hoses enters the tranny as those hoses are kinda wet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in school right now and I don't want to have to tow the car back home, is there anyway to have it work temporaily? So I can drive it for around 100 miles. Can I simply refill the fluid? to have it get it gear again for now.

Thanks

Try keeping it filled up, if theres no air in the lines. There are right ups about changing the hose and bleeding the lines, but try filling it with fresh brake flid and see how long it takes to leak....

My clutch line was leaking. If you follow the slave cyl line, at the first joint, that's where mine leaked. It's a square box, about 1" on each side, gold colored, right below and medial to the battery tray. $50 for a new hose, $30 for labor is what I paid my mechanic.

If I just fill it up for now, do I need to bleed it? I have to wait til the weekend before I can get it fix.

Top off for now sounds good. I was topping off once a week.

After you replace the line, yes, bleed. There's 2 places to bleed. Good luck.

I had a similar situation. The pedal was sunk to the floor. So I called a mechanic to help bleed the max, at least I think that's what he did (putting fluid in, and pumping up the clutch pedal, etc.). After that, everythgin worked for for about 2 more months.

It was showing signs of this happening again, so I took it in, and I needed a ne slave syclinder, cause mine was leaking I guess.
