TEIN spring CAN'T handle 20" wheel

Hi guys! I just dropped my Max with TEIN S-tech spring and KYB gr-2. The look is awesome and the ride is just a bit stiffer than its original SE Springs with 16" wheels. However, when I installed a new set of 20" wheels (245/35/20) then the problem starts. With the 20" on the Max, it has only less then an inch clearance between the tire and the wheel well lip on the front. It's doing just fine on smooth road but the FRONT wheels are constantly rubbing the inner fender lips when it rolls on an uneven road, or deep rainstorm curve. Any of you guys have the same problem as I do with 20" wheels. Man, I love the look of the S-tech drop paired with 20" chrome. What are my options here?
1. Keep the S-tech and run it with 16" wheels, or...
2. Go with Eiback or H-tech and run it with 20" wheels

Don

I believe you can get your fenders rolled and that should solve your problem. Are there any smaller tires like a 245/30/20 or 245/25/20 That would also help.

Your problem is probably due to improper wheel offset and/or size of tire.... H tech are even softer than the S.

Think about it... you should have more than 1" travel for safety reasons.

Lols. anyways.....i would sell the 20's and get smaller rims. 20's are just too big. try 18's. they dont look that bad.

Yeah! I'm totally agree with you. My problem was that I got the wheels before I decided to drop the car (tired of 4X4 trucking). The good new is I still have those 16" wheels that I bought from a brand new Altima guy, or the 15" sawblades which were originaly came with the car. For now, I will ride on the 16", and I can't tell you how much more I love my car after the drop.

A 20" wheel with a different offset might work.

Sorry dude! I don't have a D-cam, I'm browsing ebay right now and hope to find one cheap. BTW, the guy lives next door asked me if I can get the same spring install on his 99 GLE while I'm washing the car this afternoon. Be honest, its look and ride sooo good for the $$$$.

where is it rubbing? also you didn't mention your offset, but maybe go higher. i would go 1.5" drop, as that would be the least expensive remedy. 225/35/20 tires might help.

OK guys! A buddy of mine will be here in Orlando tomorrow to try on the 20" wheels with his Eibach/KBY-GR2 set-up to see if any rubbing problems. I got this set off a Lexus guy for a great deal, the tire profile is already too low for my taste, so don't wanna go any lower as some of you recommended. If it works fine with Eibach then I might want to trade the S-tech for eibach b/c I love those 20" chrome sooo much. Thanks you all for your inputs.
