Has anyone had problems in their '98 tranny?

Basically as the subject states...has anyone with a '98-99 maxima had problems with their 5 spd. tranny similiar to the ones found in '95-96's? i.e. leaking oil, etc.? Also, do '97's have problems such as the infamous differential bearing problems?
For anyone that knows my tranny situation, the '98 tranny that was swapped into my maxima over the last couple days was found to be leaking oil from a crack in the bottom of the tranny. They said that they checked over the tranny thoroughly, so I can't believe that they missed a visible crack on the transmission. I didn't even see the car before I got a call from the dealer saying that they have to get another one for my car. Apparently, another is already being shipped, hopefully a '98-99 like I requested, and will be in mid next week.
Everyone should know, this is slowly killing me.
Louis
Oh yea, do any 4th gen. 5 spd. transmissions come with LSD from the factory? I though I recognized the part number for my old tranny as the one that I was given for trannies with LSD.

I have a 98 and manual my trans is making heavy gear whinning sounds in 1st in 2nd after I had the gear oil changed to Amsoil. The shop I took it to said it might be the diff bearings or the clutch. When he told me it'd take 6-8 hrs (approx. $600) to change the clutch I got outta there before I choked the...well you get the picture. I'll be hunting around for a better diagnosis, but yeah I got issues with mine.

P.S. The Infiniti I30 came with LSD stock.
