Does the 7" screen need a brain?

I would like to know if the 7" Microvision screen or Icon screen need a brain to work? Since its just a monitor, doesn't it just need a power and a video source? Does anyone have any info on the Icon screen?

sorry to ask but what exactly is a brain. ive heard this erm being brought up talking about tv's but its only concerning top brand tv's like pioneer or panasonic. i have a 7 in fold out tv and i dont think it has a brain, it had this little box that said filter on it. i jus hooked it up to a power source and to my ps2 and i was all good.

id jus like to know what this term means for future referance since i think im going to be upgrading my lcd by x-mas
