water pump replacement ?

I have a slight coolant leak in my 95 max thats been there ever since I got my car a year and a half ago. The coolant level is right at the min level, and if i add more, it just leaks out back to hte min level, but my car never overheats. I got it checked out, and they said the water pump may vent out a little when the car starts up. How much would I have to pay to get a new water pump put in? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

get a second opinion on that to replace the water pump is a pain in the a$$ you have to remove timing chain cover it works with timing chain so probably they end up charging you a lot to replace a good pump besides its not cheap it cost like $100+

You don't have to take the timing cover off. There is a cover over the water pump and the tensioner so you can change out the pump without taking the whole chain cover off.

A new oem pump is around $100. I don't understand why, it's just a mechanical pump, nothing too special. Water can leak through the shaft of the pump, basically it will leak out between the block and the timing chain cover. If that's where the source of the water is, I'd say it's your pump.

You could try presurizing your cooling system with air, (20 psi) if you have the ability. It sounds like it leaks just adding water to a certain level though.
