I've seen so many different opinions on this subject. IO'm looking to replace my stock exhaust on my Maxima. Warpspeed.com has two complete systems. One is a 2.5 inch, includes everything from the Y pipe back. The other is for a 3" system...same, y pipe back. The three inch system says it is for a supercharged Maxima. Does that mean I can't use it? Greddy does not make one for my car, so I am swaying towards one of the two on warpspeed.com. Any opinions? Thanks for your help.

 

Go with 2.5 inch system. The 3 inch will hurt you more than it will help you if you're not boosted.

 

would a 2.25" single resonated be quieter in sound and greater in flow than a double resonated 2.5"???

NO. The ypipe is the cause for the noise with out exhausts. With a stock Y and most aftermarket exhausts the max is quiet. Resonators don't hinder flow.

Cattman headers, random high flow cat, 2.5" resonated b pipe and a Remus street muffler (race if you dont mind the volume).
