Money is no option

How hard and about at what difficulty would it be to get an RB26dett into the Max?? I have seen maybe a couple of 240 guys do it and they are rwd. so why would it not be possible to do it fwd. Just a question. Dont want a stillen SC..want to do something different.

i think you would have a hard time finding a tranny to match up, plus i think it would be a little too long to sit in there sideways, right? I mean, stock is 3 cylds wide, and it only has a little bit of room left. Just turbo the VQ!!

I really wish these threads would just be OVER...ok lets just rehash this once more.

#1 If money is no option why wouldnt you just import a skyline, and convert it to US spec?

#2 The Engine is too long to fit in an a32 - more fabrication.

#3 Converting transaxle FWD to RWD would mean intense fabrication and not to mention the fact the maxima doesnt have a tunnel underneath to run the drivetrain down.

#4 with the thousands of other problems this just wouldnt be worth the effort...

I dont know why everyone is so stuck on the RB26DET engine, sure it works great in skylines but its like why not swap in an built Edelbrock 350 with an m420 stonecrusher tranny from like a late 60's vette, or an F-1 engine. It gets to the point where you have to say "Why am I bothering to do this to a MAXIMA" with all respect to the Maxima it does get a little rediculous. Skylines are fast but there are much faster car's out there...if money isn't a problem look into the Ferrari "Enzo"...

I suppose if your parents are that rich and you want to win the "Stupid Waste Of Money Award," you could take it to Foose or one of those other shops that could fit a Saturn V rocket engine in a Civic, given enough time.

I went to a performance shop about 5 years ago and asked what they thought about putting the syline r33 drivetrain in my max. With the awd 6 speed and engine .
They told me I hand them $30,000 and they will put it all in.

If money is no option, are you hoping that somebody will donate the parts to you?

The Nissan Cefiro
"This a car is a bsse car that alot of people in Japan use for drifting they come in a number of varieties.
RWD, AWD Turbo non turbo but they are all 4 door and all from the factory are automatic.
the floor pan is bassed on the s13 but as with alot of japanese cars they share parts with the skyline and S13.
Why am I featuring them?
I find the Cefiro an interesting car that is able to be imported to Australia. not many people have heard of them so I thought I would start. I have actually got one coming as you might have seen on the front page they are quite affordable and make a nice unique car to have.
more up dates when my car gets here.

The cefiro comes from the factory with the rb series of motors from non turbo and turbo a common swap from them is the SR20 motor from the nissan s series as this give better weight distribution and also under japanese law they may have some cheaper insurance and regisration costs."

http://www.meggala.com/cefirocss.htm

they come with rb254de and can be swapped for the sky's engine rb25det or rb26dett

rb20det-rb25det-rb26dett all belong to skylines different year

also it would be easier to fit a VQ30DET than the rb series but again that engine belongs to a rwd car the cedric maybe with enough $$ can be done
