I need help ASAP - got ticketed! Need help! WILL compensate!
I live in Chicago and got ticketed for having the front windows tinted. I have a very light tint, but that's irrelevant now I guess. Anyway, the violation fine is $75!!!!!!!!
I have court this wednesday (Aug 25, 2004) at 1:00 PM and I know that if I plead guilty, the cops will always see my ticket for tinted windows, even though it's not considered a moving violation on my record. So basically every time the cops will check my plates or even pull me over for anything else, they'll nail me extra for tints and I'm not about to take them off.
Now I know for a fact that in 95% of cases the judge will dismiss the ticket if you show him/her a picture of your car with the tints off. The picture has got to be taken from an angle so that the plates are visible, there are no tints, and of course the color of the car has to match mine

I am willing to compensate anyone in the Chicago area $10 for spearing a minute or two and letting me screw on my license plate on their Maxima so that I can take a picture of it. Obviously the Maxima has to be a 4th gen, black, and have not tints.
Any help would be appreciated, FAST! Thanks in advance!

Not if you keep getting pulled over by the same cop. And I've gone to court and the judge pulled my file and he "saw" all these "dismissed" tickets also. But do what you want. It's still a big hassle for some tints.

Whatever, I'll try the photoshop thing. Is it possible for ANYONE on the org to snap a picture of a Maxima today or tomorrow that:
1) Has a black 4th gen Maxima
2) Is high resolution/definition
3) Taken at an angle with the front plate visible
4) Preferably with the setting that displays the current month/day/year
5) ...and finally without tinted windows
I would then probably need help with photoshop and getting my plates to be seen
Thanks much!

With your luck the same cop is going to bang you with the same summons again like Jeff said. And its not only Chicago, all states have different laws regarding tint that can be interpreted differently. Here in NYC you cant have tint darker than 30%... however there is also a law saying your not supposed to have anything on your front or back windows that is NOT transparent (ie stickers... or tint)
Now if you wanna try to get away with it by photoshopping or trying to change your plates go ahead but I have no pity whatsoever for people who try to get over when they know they've done something wrong.

Boss,
First of all I would find out what type of picture you need to provide? I know alot of courts will not accept anything except a polaroid. Mainly because they understand how easy it is to alter images now a days. If you don't need to submit a polaroid then you can do as follows.
If you cannot locate a picture with the angle you need. You can always go to (www.cardomain.com).
When you find a picture that you can use, just double click on it so the larger image appears. Then right clic on that image & "save as" to your desktop.
If you do not want to do that you can always take a digital photo of your own car. Open it in photoshop & adjust the darkness of the window tint or just plan remove it. It won't be that hard to do for the front windshield. Just use the eye dropper & cloning tool. You'll be suprized just how easy it is & how well it will turn out especially when you take into consideration that it's "Do or Die" for you. So you'll know if it's worth even showing to the judge. Just take you time & make sure it comes out nice.
And if you feel that your photochop skillz are limited maybe you can email the photo to someone will to do the work for you. I would say send it over, but I don't have photoshop installed on my computer.

I agree with ANT 100% I train with the police all the time in my city and do rides all the time, and like ANT said if you have something illegal we are going to tag you, I think it's funny how so many people talk **** about cops, but when you are getting robbied or you get ****ed with , dont call the cops because remember your famous words " man, I'm tired of listening to dipsh!ts like you." We'll let the police know that you think they are worthless, then they'll say "man, I'm tired of listening to dipsh!ts like you." to you when you call for help

But to stay on topic, take off the tints and you wont have that problem anymore
Why dont you just take the tint off the drivers side window, then take your pic. After you show the pic, you can go get it re-tinted. Im sure it wont be that expensive. (If you do that, you will be sure you wont get ticketed for that and the judge will throw it away.
After two ticket for my front windows being tinted I just took it off so I don't have to worry about it. If you won't remove the tint your better off just paying the ticket and not going to court. It's alot worse to get caught lying to a judge than to pay the $75 ticket

Just take them off and go and get those roller tints that suction on to the window and you can roll them down to keep the sun out. Just joking...
But seriously, I would probably go with the plate swap rather than trying to photoshop a plate in. That seems more difficult to do.
Otherwise, just go to a use car lot and take their car for a test drive and swap the plate out on a side street if you need to.
