As some of you know I used to have a 4th Gen which wasnt a bad little car. I wanted to know what has become of 4th gens. What new mods have come out and what is everyone doing since 2 years ago? Post pics and let me know how things are going.

MEVI + JWT ECU is the basic NA setup to have nowadays, Cattman and some other company also have true headers out now but they aren't cheap. JWT has also come out with camshafts for us. Within the last 2 months or so a couple guys have successfully swapped the DEK (2000-2001) variable intake manifold onto 4th gens. The biggest thing is the explosion of turbos for the 4th gens, there are alot of turbo guys now, 2 (or 3 depending upon how you view the custommaxima kit) kits are available, and other guys are putting together their custom setups, and a couple guys are playing around with sticking VQ35s and/or the 6spd transmissions from the VQ35 in their 4th gens.

Suspension-wise there are at least 4 true coilover setups available (JIC FLT-A2, JIC something else, Tein Basics, and D2 coilovers).

Brakes wise some guys have stuck 13" mustang cobra rotors on their 4th gens, another org member is selling custom relocation brackets to allow the use of 12.6" 2004 Maxima rotors on 4th gens.

That's about all I can think of right now as far as major things go.

here are a few things looks wise that you may not know about

4th gens have a nice full bumper replacement offered through redlinemax.com. its called the M bumper which looks like the bumper off of an M3. IMO this is the nicest bumper available for the maxima. they have also released a set of M fenders which have a nice lil grile insert.

sarona also has a new compete body kit, its kinda expensive tho, looks are ehhhh ok. you can also see this kit at redlinemax.com

Carbon fiber body kit is now available from ionic designes. its basicly a CF lip, side skirts, and rear valance all in CF.

Carbon fiber trunks are now available. i forgot who makes em but they look nice IMO.

alot of members have dabled with custom made projector headlights

well thats all i can think of as far as looks go.

other than that, the org has gone through alot of changes..... search feature is disabled..... some moderators are going power crazy..... alot of questions being asked over and over again.

Well wow I didnt think that many new mods and things came out for the 4th gens since I have last been into my maxima about 2 years ago. I knew the turbo kit would explode into the market but I was supercharged right before the turbo kit came out. I am glad someone finally came out with some type of ECU or engine managment its about damn time. Body kits always come out but it seems like alot more suspension work has been done for the maxima since I had KYB AGX's and Eibachs a few years back and that was one of the best set-up's out there.

As for Greg last time I saw his maxima about 2 years ago it was in pieces and I am not shocked that it is still not been completed. I honestly do not know what is taking so long. I could have had 2-3 maxima's all done up by now. Come on Greg what is the hold-up.......?

I got alot of stickers on my car now

 

mardigras is still the quickest 1/4 mile and hal has the fastest trap speed and probably the most power as well, 122ish trap speed and 476/505tq.

both hal and mardigras are building motors now, probably in addition to other people who lurk and don't post, so in the next year or so there are going to be some big jumps forward i bet. mardigras is building a 3.5 turbo in his 4th gen and actually had it done then blew 3rd gear on his test run so he's gotta build a transmission right now.

jime and hal are both running a close 2nd and 3rd in ET both with 12.0 and 12.1s if i recall, jimes got a couple different maxs running low 12s, a pair of 4th gens and a 3.5 5th gen all running something on the order of progressive 150-200shot NX, and hal being turbo/nitrous fed, both on stock motors.

I think i've got the quickest all motor ET and trap speeds but i have a strong feeling that is going to change pretty soon because other guys are going further with the motor than i ever have or will, I've got a turbo in my trunk
