hey guys,
my favorite light popped on yesterday, CEL So i got the ECU code and it come out with 10 long and 3 short, PARK/Neutral Switch? Does anyone know how to fix this? What does it do? What triggered it? Is it bad to drive it with the light on.

I have this too, cant figure it out also,(5speed conversion)

 

Mine's on too (5sp). One problem with it is that the white reverse lights won't function making it dangerous when backing up. It's pretty much just a switch on the bottom of the tranny that you probe, test, and swap. Haynes doesn't describe it too well but the FSM's cover it.

 

OKay I just did this little swap its actually really easy. Its like a 40 dollar part at nissan. Theres one bolt holding the switch on the bottom of the trannyit just pops out. I had to take it off in pieces cuz it was so stuck on there. But be prepared when that switch comes off about 4 litres of fluid comes with it, so either drain it before hand or have a container ready. Theres also a switch that comes with the packageit goes inside the tranny. This is the hard part. I tried to take it off iwth my fingers so I dropped it in the tranny. And when I tried to get it out I ended up pushing it back farther. but I covered the hole and put some gear oil in there and it came to a point where I fished it out. So I would take the little switch out with some pliers or something just so yu have a good grip on it. Then it goes all back together the way it came off. i have a 5 speed. So our reverse lights dont work? hum...

 

If your reverse lights dont work and you tried changing the bulb then its becuase of this switch. Mine worked fine after.
