A guy told me that he got his weighed at one of those HWY weigh stations. Cost'em $5. Also I think some dragstrips have a place to weigh cars also. You could always go get 4 bathroom scales . Hope that helps.

Yeah any truck stop should have a scale. Look for the cat scale sign.

how do you know it's exactly 3072 stock? 4th gens range anywhere from about 3000 lbs even for a stripper GXE 5spd to maybe 3160 lbs for a fully loaded GLE automatic. Scales can vary by a few percent, and that's enough to make any measurement meaningless. It would have been better if you measured before on a particular scale and then did it afterwards again on the same scale. The same principle goes for dynoing. Do a baseline dyno first, and then dyno each stage of your mods on the SAME dyno to minimize variability.

I weighed my 96 SE auto at the dragway and it was 3120 with 1/4 tank of gas. Nothing removed. Seems acurate to me. BUT I stripped my 98 and weight it at a local truck scale and it was 2800. I think it rounded up, especially considering similarly equipped max weighed much less. Out of the two I trust the drag way's scale.

That's what Nissan says the curb weight is in the '97 catalog.

well... i just weighed my car empty (no spare, subs, amp, less than 1/4 tank of gas) and it weighed 3080 lbs. most truck stops will let you do it(if they have a scale), just talk to the weighmaster. i do have 17" AE rims though, and they're not the lightest.

Yeah, I think that's for a base 97 SE auto with no options. A 97 SE manual was like 3007 lbs. But you add options (leather, dual power seats, bose with woofer, moonroof, seat heaters, mirror heaters, etc) and that adds weight - around 100 lbs for all of that. So even though Nissan says a 97 SE 5spd weighs 3007 lbs, with all of the options mine would be over or around 3100 lbs.

So what I'm saying is, despite what Nissan lists, it will still depend on which options YOUR specific car has.
