rev limiter?

Does the max have a rev limiter and if so what is its default limit? Im asking this cause i want to start racing autocross and dont wanna blow the motor seeing you very seldom get out of second gear.

rev limiter is the computers stpping point that it cuts fuel to the motor so you dont blow it when you go above red line.

Out of curiosity, if the rev limiter is at 6550 stock, then how did ( cant remember their name) but someone has posted not too long ago that they had mis a gear ( dropped it 2nd when going 60+) and blew the motor, would the limiter cut the gas when he hit the redline saving his motor? or maybe he removed the rev limiter?

the rev limiter is software related. If you PHYSICALLY mis-shift, no rev-limiter is going to save you.

with a chip upgrade you can have it programed higher or taken out all together. Also down shifting at high speed you would go over the rev limiter just by the ratio of gears as i know it causing it to go above the limit. As i know it rev limiter only for cutting out on acceleration not downshift.
