help! what else should i check??

alright, need some suggestions. I know I need a new rear 02 sensor. My car doesn't have the acceleration it did before my check engine light came on. bad gas mileage, low rpm power loss. i know i should replace the sensor and then see what that does but in case it does nothing, what else should i check to address my acceleration issue?
thanks.

I bet its the knock sensor, but if the O2 sensor code is present change it first. Then if the KS code shows up then you know 100% its dead. The KS code comes up when other things are messed up, such as O2 sensors....but it will never light the MIL.

replace which one?

alright, so i had the dealer check the codes just to be sure and they said it was the rear o2 sensor too. but....i got the 34 code too which is the knock sensor right? so should i replace the knock sensor first or the sensor? or both?
thanks

like maxima10to1 said, replace the o2 sensor first, reset ecm, and drive it for a week or so than check the codes again, if knock sensor code it there again than replace it. sometimes when other sensors go bad it throws the knock sensor code also

so replace o2 first?

So it's possible that my KS is ok but since my rear 02 sensor (7,7code) went bad, it might have tripped my KS code too? I'm thinking maybe I should replace the KS anyway since it hasn't been done in 4-5 years but if just replacing the 02 works than I wouldn't worry about the KS for a little while.
thanks.

Every time my 96 got an O2 code it tripped the KS too. I would replcae the O2 1st, but if you have the money go nutts are replace the KS too. Come to think of it, the rear O2 checks to see if the cat is working and should not affect performance. My gut says the KS is junk too.

Yeah, I'm thinking the KS is bad too. So I'm going to replace both.
