Budget Y-Pipe

my y pipe will be here on friday, im curious, what sort of set up did you guys go with when you had it put in? did you just leave the stock resonator, or did you have a muffler shop make on for you? I've got a custom bent 2.5" cat-back, with no resonator, and i dont want to sound like a truck when i get it put on, so should i just have the muffler shop make me one? How does the y pipe sound non resonated? Resonated? anyone with sound clips of a similar set up?

It will probably sound loud and obnoxious without a resonator on there, once you get your y-pipe. I would either use your stock resonator (if you still have it), or just get one at a little muffler shop for like $60 bucks. They help.

My setup:
stock resonator
custom 2.5" b
WSP Y
5th gen muffler
stock cat.........it all sounds great, but not too loud at all. I didn't want one loud.

well, i just put my budget on today, and boy does it sound crazy. like a v8 or something. i kinda like it, but kinda dont. so looks like i'll get a resonator when the funds are there. the butt dyno says there wasnt that much power gained, but maybe its in my head. who knows? maybe i'll give it a few days and see what happens. unless 15-20 whp just isnt that noticeable.
