drop a 300zx TT in it then and upgrade your turbos, and convert to RWD and I'll put your picture on my hood. LOL

You can but their delivery times suck and their prices for forged knutsen valves (a must on the VQ) are a total rip off.

I was thinking of doing that actually, but I don't want to have to cut, and do a custom install. I wanted to do the VQ30DETT, get rid of my 2WD drivetrain and do a 4WD drivetrain, but after considering the price I decided to look into buying a built VQ30DE and taking the parts I already have and the parts that are coming in and taking it down a few notches from idiotically nuts to pretty nuts.

And thanks for the offer but my picture would probably melt your paint. :X

yeah if you want to build a VQ motor, theory is taking a vq35 crank, and vq35 rods (I think), take vq30de pistons (or if you want low compression you can use JDM vq30det pistons out of a cefiro engine hard to find). I don't think anybody makes aftermarket internals for our engines besides JWT cams which cost way too much.

If you wonna build a motor you might as well buy a different car, because it's pretty much a unknown route, and if you don't have a single idea on how to even rebuild an engine (assembly after machine shop and such) I wouldn't try it.

if you want your max to go fast just slap a turbo or s/c on it, and maybe spray, you can go well above the limits of traction of FWD street driven max.

EDIT: After reading your above post I almost **** my self, and you defently bought a wrong car. Just buy a DSM and become a ASE technician you will save yourself alot of time and money, and you will actually get what you want.

I can get to neither of those sites. I will try again, but it sucks that I can't get to them now. I've tried looking and searching but it is just a time consuming process and am just looking for a more direct approach.

NO ONE sells built VQ motors. NO ONE sells off the shelf forged or strengthened parts for the VQ30.

ALL parts (pistons, rods, valvetrain, etc...) must be custom made and assembled.

I don't do my work on my engine and such, my mechanic does that, and he's good @ what he does. I just work my *** off to pay for my upgrades. I love my Max, I am going to build a monster, and yeah, I want to do make it a VQ30DET, but still contimplating on the best kit to get and turbos, etc.

BUT, I don't want to do that on a stock engine, I want to do it right, yanno? Cost effective? No. Better way to do it in the long run? I believe so.

Still looking for built engines. :P Help?

Alright I was looking for some expertise, not to be fooled with. Thanks.

I've seen SR20DE's built and what not, on sites for sale, just never a VQ30DE, but again I never looked. Well thanks for spending your time to **** around with me. Cool.

Quit looking, and your mechanic is going to quit business soon. AWD isn't happening, build engine is like 1 out of a million, I only seen one VQ with jdm cefiro pistons in there, and I think the guy was bluffing. Believe me VQ is strong enough to make you **** yourself, enough times to fill up the back seat. And it can make enough power to burn those tires all across the quater mile. Just let it go

3.5 motor is not an option. And ABK, I'm no "gansta", thanks. Just living my life as you're living yours.

So can does anyone have any constructive feedback? Rather than smart *** comments?

Might as well buy a 2k2 SE then, it'll cost about the same and save you a lot of hassle...

Just wondering if it was possible, I thought people come here to ask questions and I don't believe that any question is a stupid one. But that's IMO. Can I get some quality feedback around here?

Just want a VQ30DE with low miles, I'll do the rest. Thank ya.

The VQ is strong enough in stock form to put over 400hp to the wheels when tuned properly.

That is way more than you can use in a FWD car.

Start with a conservtively tuned turbo and dont worry about internals.

In fact, I dont think anyone has broken one yet. Sure, they have been over-revved, blown head gaskets and burned things from running lean, but I cant think of one person who had any kind of bottom end failure at any power level.

I just figured fully built would be the best way to get the most out of your engine. But I may be mistaken.

It only shows up once per thread, thank god lol.

But seriously if you want power just s/c or turbo it, and get it tuned well.

Ok, for one I've changed my sig. Hope it's better. lol. For two, I decided on just buying the motor with low miles, then dropping putting in cams and a chip. I already have a Unorthodox flywheel and Unorthodox underdrive pulley and Injen CAI. Cattman headers and Y-pipe combo come around late Oct / early November, same with the Cattman catback.

Now the choice is what turbo kit to do, I've heard different things about different kits. For instance a smaller kit the turbo will spool quicker, but a bigger kit the turbo will spooler harder. I'd like some feedback on what you experienced owners have on which kit would be the best route to take with my setup. Thanks.

If you arent going to touch the bottom end, why get another motor?

What's wrong with the one in your car?

I already did a used tranny with 67k on it. Was going to do a bulletproof but I opted out because of the fact that I don't have all my mods done that I wanted so I figured I really didn't need to spend the extra 1500 for a bulletproof rather than just doing a used oem one for 1000$ and it runs well.

I sprung an oil leak in my car which in turn drained all my oil and I was on the highway and driving hard when I got off the highway I down shifted then my pistons started ticking. My mechanic said that a screw was loose enough to let my oil drain out slowly and my oil pressure was going to be shot anyway cause I fried the bearings from having lil to no oil in it. The car was fine, no oil leaks then I guess something gave way, damn, there must have been a oil slick out on I-95 but, I never drove over it heh. But still dangerous for other drivers.

Today I will find out if just the bearings can be replaced. Just so I can meet with clients and get around, i.e grocery store, post office, upcoming car shows maybe.

Well ya mzmtg, thats what happened. I was ****ed. Things happen for a reason though.
