Vacumn Pump Problem, Should I have it looked at??

I'm pretty sure I have a vacumn problem in my Max. When I shut it off sometimes I hear a growling (w/vibrations) and occasionally after running it for a long time I hear the same growling at low RPM's. I don't think it's having an effect on my performance but the more I think about it I feel I need to have it looked at. Any thoughts? :attention

and/or possible remedies w/o taking it to the stealership.... Is this easily replaceable? It's definetly a problem with the vacumn system, I'm almost positive of that.
