Odometer going on and off. Help!

Odometer going on and off. Help!

quick question to see if you guys can help...my odometer starts reading the miles for a little while then stops. When i push the button in to reset the miles it goes for a while and stops again. im confused as He ll on whats going on...any ideas fellas????

Mine does that too which it doesn't bother me that much since I'll be the only one driving it till it decides to quit running. I have a 96 with 148,xxx which is probably a few hundred miles off. My tachometer doesn't work sometimes and I didn't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

bad speedometer head, I had this problem as well I would read milage and it would keep track and stop when it felt like it, placing it is the best thing.

Pricing depends on what year max you have and if you have the digital or the old skool things (dont know exact terminology). When I was getting it fixed I heard about $300 for the digital, and around $150 for the old skool. Not sure how to fix exactly, but I know that was the prices I got a while back when mine went bad.
