and have a cutout made to match the stock exhaust side. unless of course you pruchase that rear bumper with the cutouts allready. Check the sound clips on this page...
http://www.customenterprise.com/view.../vts/design004
A local exhaust shop should be able to make the whole thing for you. Go to some and get some quotes.
The only other thing I have learned is that sometimes shops will charge you and extra half an hour labour if you bring in parts yourself. If you feel you can tackle this project yourself and the price is right from custommaxima order it from him.
Good luck

ya im gonna think about it for a little while, i dont know where i would put my spare tire, i dont want it flying around everywhere. Ya i heard the sound clips and i love the sound. I thought some people here had dual exhausts and would like some words of wisdom from them. I just hope that installation of it wont be more than the thing itself.

I have it... and love it. As for smashing in the spare tire well, thats not true. Mine has not been touched. Yes it is really over priced but i think its the best sounding and looking exhaust out there for the MAX. Installing it is no picknick though. The instructions make it sound a lot easier then it really is. Oh yea you should get the resignator. Without it its going to be really loud and a cop magnet. Finally when or if you order it, make sure you know where the rear O2 sensor is. If its right after the cat, there will be a S shape pipe that houses the O2. Just make sure you get the right pipe cause if you get the wrong one you will have to drill it and install the O2 that way and its just a pain in the ****.
Good luck.

Hey, do you have the address or number to that shop? Shops around here want $250+ for just a resonated catback.

Im sorry dude... i would rather pay the insane amount that the Flowmaster costs then destroy the car like that. At least you have 2 muflers though.

A brand new flowmaster is only like $80... plus $200 for the actual exhaust... throw in another $50 for some nice chrome tips and you'll have a nice new exhaust for about $330. I had the tips laying around and got the muffler for free so I got lucky... as for where I got it done... behind Shea Stadium, theres a bunch of muffler shops back there. I actually took a fellow orger to get his done there too, skiam24

Which dual exhausts are out there where you don't have to crush the spare tire well?

do you see any gains from the dual over the single? i would think that since ur running dual pipes then you might want to go with a 2 1/4 in. pipe, or maybe even a 2"... i'm not sure but don't you need to maintain certain level of backpressure?

are you looking to have a true dual exhaust done or a single inlet muffler with dual exits?

Hey fill me in on that queens location. How much would it run me for a true dual exhaust? I already have a Cattman Y-Pipe sitting patiently in my garage. What else do I need? Honestly I heard the dual exhaust is only for looks (which is what i care about), no real HP gains. 2-3hp at most.

I say go for it but you do know that muflers arent small. Im willing to bet my life that you will need to bash in the car to fit it in there... That brings you to another thing, what about the actual spare tire? It wont fit in there anymore like it used to. Just a thought. One reason i like the Flowmater better.
With 2 muflers the sound may get a little too high so it may attract cops with nothing better to do then bother you.

I have a single Cat-back exhaust with a flowmaster muffler. It sounds really good with a resonator. I think the Dual exhaust is mostly for looks. I doubt you can get much more power gains out of it from single catbacks.

This is the way i see it. If you have a single muffler then you would actually gain something but with a split after the cat into 2 different mufflers you may actually loose something. Yea it looks great but im sure there will be a problem with the sound. As for the Flowmaster with 2 outlets it is mostly for look IMO. I dont think it would sound as good if you had 2 Flowmaster mufflers on it though. Much too loud and it wont sound like a Stang.

oh my god you guys are clueless, its not a true dual exhaust, its basically the oem pipe from the cat to the muffler and the muffler has 2 exits... and its only ONE muffler

pu$$y

You arent going to have a true dual exhaust unless you get someone to fabricate a Y pipe that is going to split BEFORE the cat... your talking big $$$ for pretty much no gains

lol plus i would get lost there anyway and who knows where i would end up, damn i didnt know i would have to modify the y pipe, i thought that like the 2 mufflers would come together or something like that, i didnt know it would be this much trouble, i mind as well get the cattman exhaust since theres a group deal, cattman the best exhaust? Would i be able to make a dual exhaust out of a cattman? Not 2 mufflers

Nah just get a flowmaster... its the same muffler as 84-92 Camaros IIRC... its one inlet and 2 outlets, one outlet goes straight out and the other goes around the spare tire well, any muffler shop can have it made. You just have to cut out the left side part of the bumper for the tip... no crushing spare tire well, no crazy modifying, its pretty easy.

I originally wanted to get a custom dual exhaust with the flowmaster but then I decided to go with the single exhaust. The whole thing cost me $200. But then I realized it was too loud without the resonator and it also wasn't mandrel bent so I bought a budget B-pipe w/resonator and 2.5" cat. That was kinda expensive. It sounds awsome though. I do not regret my exhaust decisions.

you're better off with the 'fake' dual exhaust. that way, if you ever need to sell the car or trade it in, there isnt any damage in the trunk to lower the price. also, since you'll actually lose Hp if you modify the pipe and all, why bother. it's all for the look and sound anyway, so might as well get it done for half the price and half the work.

cool, nah im not goin for the real deal dual exhaust for all the reasons that you mentioned, and ant96gle doesnt it look weird because on the right side you can see the muffler and then on the left side you just see a pipe?

i went to the flowmaster web site and they have the dual exhaust muffler that comes with all the pipeing..... is that what you got and just had it bent into shape or you had the custom exhaust guys make the pipes?
