I would like to know also,

an alignment would be needed also, but if a shop is doing this for you I'm sure they will do that also (hopefully).

I would like to know more about this too.

You will want dustboots since yours are probably torn to **** (kyb unless you would rather cut your stock bumpstops), and front strut bearings (part number 54325-5v000).

luckily i work at a shop, and i can get the alignment and lowering done for free. i'm just curious if anyone on here has had treadwear problems after lowering.

If your alignment is done properly you should not have any problems with tread wear. If you start messing around with toe in/out positive/negative camber then yes, you will start having some tread wear issues. It depends on what you plan to do with the car. Some people will set their camber a little more agressive so that in agressive cornering, you actually have more tire tread contacting the ground. The disadvantage is that in straight line driving, less of the tread is on the road.
That's what I know.

if you go under 2 inch drop.. you really dont need camber.. its optional and may help you get another 3-5k out of your tires. if you keep proper rotations cycles, and have a good alignment, you wil be fine.

strut bearing is a good call.. mine were cracked to he**

true coil overs is teh way to go if you want true race inspired feel. they are stiff and have a linear spring rate. the bump stop moves with the height adjustment on the coilever so you really dont haev to worry about hitting bumpstops..true coilovers will set you back over a G. they ride is stiff. no other way to put it.
