Brake problems

Hey guys I bought a 97 SE the first may and the dealer said that they replaced the pads, shoes, and resurfaced the rotors before I bought it. Well about mid June the brakes started squealing when I applied light pressure to them. I took it in for an oil change and the guys there said they were just glazed over and you just have to burn it off. Well now is September and about 6000 miles later and now when I brake the car shakes, violently once in a while, which isn't good at all. Its gotten worse gradually. It feels like the pads are only gripping off and on. So I'm gonna have them looked at this week, the question is should the dealer fix this for free since there's only 6k on the car since I've bought it? Or am I SOL and looking at paying for the fix? Anyone have any ideas on what I should expect to hear from the shop as the problem? Thanks

Your rotors are warped - if you have warranty take it in and have them fix it, otherwise purchase some good quality rotors and install them yourself.

The place you bought your car, is it a Nissan dealership ? - if not i could bet some money that they have installed cheap Autozone rotors.
go to www.tirerack.com and order some Brembo blank rotors they work great , then go to your local Nissan dealer and get some OEM pads - no sqealing at all.

Nick.

yeah doode, but i think, if you dont want to spend money at all, have the dealer fix the whole thing, and besides, its not like the oem stuff is that bad. if its free, its worth it!

Perhaps the rotors were cut to the mininum thickness, if you have ceramic pads they will cook thin rotors real fast. When I replace brakes on my daughter's Maxima I use rabestos semi metallic, and full thickness rotors only.
They have lasted longer than the ceramic

So you guys think the nissan dealer that I bought off of will fix it for free even tho I've put 6k on it since I bought it? The brakes were completely redone, I've got a feeling they'll try to jew me by saying that they are so new that I must have messed them up somehow. But thanks for the input guys, much appeciated.
