anyone convert their driving lights to 'running lights?'

I am thinking of converting my driving lights to running lights, i.e. making them come on with the car independent of all other lights, I think I just need to identify which wire in the ignition harness is the switch leg for the driving lights and then connect that to a wire that is hot when the car is running. Has anyone else done this ??

its on there somewhere, and you could just leave the switch on the stalk on all the time. the signal wire that is mentioned is after the switch, but with a voltmeter you should be able to find the right one. good luck

http://maxima.bryanb.com/fog/fogrewire.html This is for a 4 th Generation Maxima I did it to my 1999 and it works great. Your driving lights will come on when you turn on your parking lights and will stay on with your brights. Works through your stock switch. I recommend soldering and shrink tubing rather than splice connectors and electral tape.

I just did the fogs with parking lights mod. Took about an hour. Need two inline splices, about 2 feet of wire, 10mm socket, ~6" extension, ratchet, flat head (to pry at tabs), scissors, and pliers (or wire crimpers). I think that's it. It's the green/yellow wire that goes into the bottom of the fog light relay. Cut it and splice the side that goes to the relay to the wire and splice the other end of the wire into a parking light (I used the corner lights...the red wire).

Our fog lights do not have amber lenses.
