Tein Basic Coilovers!

First, I need some opinions on this kit, how stiff is it? Is shock adjustable?
Second, do I need to buy anything else with this kit? Or is it complete suspension upgrade?
Third, where did you buy it from? I need to find a reliable company.
So far Ive found few and this one sounds the best so far. http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/t...lovers/nissan/
800$, not bad. and how hard are they to install?

I appreciate if someone could please answer these questions, I got stock shocks and Eibach pro-kit installed atm and its HIGH AS HELL, rly want to slam it and the winters are pretty ****ty here in Finland so the ride height has to be adjustable. Im sorry if there are topics already about this subject but as long as the search button is out of order I dont have a choice.
Thanks alot!

Edit: Pay a visit in my cardomain page if you're interested.

They are a complete upgrade.. They are what you want .. I dont have any experiance with them but I will soon be getting them.. I would get them from my buddies shop at WWW.southwestautoworks.COM Very reliable.. I dont know about installs either so. But I was told they are a very nice coilovers specially for the price.. The other stuff is usually over a grand.

the TEIN Basics are only height adjustable. the damping is non adjustable. as far as quality, it is very high. you may have to get dustboots if youre stock ones are shredded. ride quality should be stiffer than what you had but bearable. installation is a breeze if you have a jack and the right tools. id say its well worth to get it. matched springs and shocks=excellent handling.

the damping is how stiff you want the shock to be or how soft. it usually has certain levels you can manually adjust it to. electronically controlled dampers for teins are the EDFC. it electronically changes the damping from inside the car so you dont have to do it outside manually. its pretty spiffy but i dont think it works with the basics cuz it does not have damper adjustablity. to change the ride height, jack up the car, turn the bottom 2 rings below the spring up or down. its like a nut and bolt action.

Wow thanks alot Mr****s95SE.

happyricefob, thanks for the info but TEIN basic is the cheapest kit ive found, and trust me its not cheap to get it here in finland, have you ever tried living in the middle of nowhere? hehe jk. but the costs will raise bc I have to pay the import tax and the shipment too. So I will have to settle for the cheapest kit..

uhmm....richard, you know i have the tein basics. im like one of the first one's to get it, and you can tell him about the experience riding in it. haha.
and doode, i can tell you, they are well worth it, and d2 racing coilovers quality cannot compare with the teins. and plus, what are you going to do with the 36 way adjustable on the d2's? i had adjustable struts before, and honestly, i dont even know how often i would change the setting on them. maybe like once or twice in like a year. honestly, if you want struts to adjust like that, i would say get it, only if you are going to track the maxima.
i got these teins in my car right now, and i love how the car looks, and handles awesome. and the mr****, you dont need dustboots by the way, it came with it. =)

Tein basics, is the whole set up, and you are good to roll.
the only stock parts you are using is pretty much the top stock perch. and thats all you need.

Jesus, I just realized that these coilovers are illegal in finland becouse they dont have TÜV approval.. Anyone got any ideas? Vehicle inspection is gonna be a very hard part (read. Impossible) for to get over with illegal parts. And if someone crashes into me I might be the one who gets to pay for the accident becouse I got "DANGEROUS" and illegal modifications. Gotta love finland.

honestly, right now im running on the lowest it can get.
i have no gap whatsoever, and its not that bad. and besides, if you do change your suspension to 2" and 3", reminder, you need an alignment everytime you mess with the suspesion. so i would find the best setting for all around use for you, so you dont have to go through the hassle of re-aligning your car all the time. i dont mind being fully droped, because the roads are not that bad around here. yes, there are places where it gets pretty boucy, but overall, i like the way it sits right now.

Maximum_95....

how is the ride quality? is it harsh? do you think that illuminas+ s techs would ride better in terms of harshness?

My friend has these on his car and he is lowered between 2-2.5" all around. I find that these make the handeling a lot better, but they are a little too soft for my liking.

i do agree with you. they do seem too soft for how low i have lowered then.
and i mean, i lowered them to the lowest setting, but i think, it is like that, for the ride quality/performance. i have no regrets.

i've ran on kyb agxs with tein s-techs and trully honestly, the harshness is not all that bad. more stiff, yes. but not as bad as people make it sound like.
everyone has their own opinion on what is too stiff, and what is not.
all i can say, is that it is no more then 15-20% more stiff/rough than when i had my tein s-techs.

hope this helps.

whats up john, and no, not soft as bouncy. i can tell you that it bounces a lot less then when i had my tein's with agx's.
i mean soft as in like, you still get some sort of role when taking your turns hard. its just not as stiff as people expect them to be for coilovers. they ride very comfortably. better then my old suspension though, tein s with agx.

8 bills? go for it, that's cheap. i actually got mine for 808 and i picked it up. so i dont know. but 800 is dirt cheap.
imagine struts all 4, $400 dollars, springs $150 dollars, total $550
i'd rather spend 250 more for true coilovers! =)
if you want to wait, im going to be parting my car pretty soon. sucks,
i have decided to get another car after completing my suspension.

My friend got his for $900 installed. So I guess $800 is a typical price. Nothing special.

D2 36 way adjustability. how often will you be adjusting it? i dont know. i thought about buying it, but i think it will just be more of a headache trying to find the best setting for it, unless if you track all the time, i think all that adjutability is not all that great. plus, i've heard that D2 is not as good of a quality.
