My Temp guage is still going up!!!!!!!

WHen I drive my 96 SE 5 speed above 75 MPH the temp guage slowly creeps past the half way mark on the guage, this is with the AC on going up a slight incline on say the freeway. Is this normal for the guage to go above half? It even goes as high as 3 quarters of the way on the guage? should l be concerned?

I opened the hood and checked when it was running warm, the fans are on high and I pulled on the throttle cable and found the lower radiator hose sucking in. like it was squeezed but doing it by itself. Anybody have this problem or is it even a problem.

I don't know if the guage is suppose to move like that, it never hit the top line though, and this car had the thermostat, water pump and both hoses replaced with nissan parts, anyone have any thoughts on this, now I have replaced the thermostat for the second time and still doing it, anyone have any thoughts on this, much appreciated!!!!!!

The hose should not be sucking it, your engine is not getting enough coolant going throug it. I think you should start by changing out the hose. How long ago did you change out the parts?

I changed out all the parts listed in June, with the second thermostat on july because I thought it was the problem, I am now wondering if its the temp sensor or the radiator needs to come out so I can go and get it rodded out, it appears clean when I look inside from the top.

What do you think? This issue happens more when I am going at or above 70 mph, and when I have the AC on, the lower hose sucks in, I don't know why this is happening and my mechanic is at a loss as to why this is happening, people have been telling me there is air in the cooling system, I ve been trying to get it out by turning the car on in the morning and letting it warm up and letting possible bubbles out. I just can't figure this out.

Or maybe going to a shop with one of those radiator flushing machines that changes out the fluid out of the block too? Have you ever done that before?

I had my cooling system flushed out at 70K. After this I just flush and refill. I had a radiator hose do this before and it turned out to be bad. I changed it out and the problem went away. Try squeezing both hoses to see if the one that sucks in feels the same as the one that does not. If it does not, and squeezes more easily, then I think it is shot.

I can't imagine it being the hose since it is brand new as of June when I installed it.

The hose feels like the upper, they both feel the same, I noticed it takes longer for the lower hose to get hot than the upper also.

I had the same problem, I changed my thermostat, flushed it, changed the radiator cap and the same thing kept happening. THen I changed my Radiator.. and for a little while it was alright... till it started all over again. Its actually the a/c condenser in front of the radiator that gets clogged with debris and just plain old dirt, try cleaning it out. Clean it out with a hose if you can and see what happens.

Unless it gets dirty between the condenser and the radiator, I can't see that as being the problem beacuse I can look down and see the condenser and its pretty clean to me, I ll check again though.

thanks for looking for that, as it turns out, my radiator was like 80%+ clogged!!! The guy at the radiator shop took the top tank out and tried to rod it and said he couldn't get the rods halfway in!!!!

So I went and bought a metal radiator for $150 out the door and a lifetime and the prolem is solved, I never would have known, just because you have clean fluid in there doesn't mean its clean inside the radiator!

Sorry I came in to late because I would have told your to replace the radiator. After switching out everything else, that shoud have been the next thing to go.

may be you didn't use silicate-free coolant which might have corroded parts of radiator and/or hoses ...
