lonnnng starts - please help
had\having a problem with a 99 max. car recently had some starting problems. ended up changing all 6 coilpacks, head temp sensor, o2 sensor (just died), plugs, and all sorts of odds and ends. when i got the car, it started fine, then sometimes it just seemed to crank and crank till finally it turned over. even after i changed all of this. i have a friend at a nissan dealer and he said that he sees a lot of these maximas getting fuel pumps because they don't hold pressure. supposedly the check valve on the pump goes bad. he said that could be it. he also said that sometimes the idle air comtroller goes bad and that could add to it, if not cause it. lastly he said the curb idle on the car might need to be reset or something along those lines. anyone have\had this problem\know what could be the cause? i gotta get a fuel pressure gauge for the car and see what its holding after the ignition is turned on, cause you don't hear the fuel pump until about 15 seconds after the car starts. any suggestions would be awesome. and if anyone knows what the fuel pressure at ilde should be, that would help too. thanks.
I want to say its more than likely you starter, I mostly want to say that due to experience. I've had a started gone bad and it takes a loong time to start.
you'll need a T-Fitting to get a read out from the fuel line (attached to the fuel filter) doing this would help you determine if enough fuel is getting to the engine.

what is "head temp sensor"?
A mechanic recommend me to replace it because when I start the car in the morning, the rpm is about 1500. After I drive it for a while, restart it, the rpm lowers to 600-800. That guy also told me that if I don't change it, it will cause starting problem when winter comes. Is that true?
Thanks for any comments
